Present Financial Securities
These are shares sold by companies in Public Offerings which are then listed and traded in Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange Plc. Currently there is a total of 27 listed companies some being cross-listed from the Nairobi Stock Exchange and the rest local companies, see listed companies.
- Treasury bills and bonds
These are debt instruments issued by the central bank of Tanzania, sold at discount, par or premium in weekly auctions with maturity varying maturity periods. More the above attributes of the said debt instruments, Treasury bonds are accompanied with annual coupons so the same is not so Treasury bills.
Treasury bonds are listed and traded in the Dar es Stock exchange Plc.

- Listed bonds
These are debt instruments issued by private companies sold at par and listed and traded in the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange Plc. Currently there are three listed corporate bonds which are National Microfinance Bank (NMB), Exim Bank and Tanzania Mortgage Refinancing Company (TMRC).
